About Company
A College of Commerce in Tinsukia was thought of in the year 1971 by some members of the then Governing body of Tinsukia College. An Ad-hoc Committee was constituted in 1972 with Late J. N. Bhuyan as president and Sri B. K. Saraswat as secretary. The committee decided to start the college under the name of Tinsukia Commerce College from the session 1972. Late Krishna Pada Dutta Choudhury took the charge of the college as Honorary Principal. Perhaps he considered it prudent to accept the post with the idea of spreading and meeting the aspirations of students for commerce education in this remote corner of the state when there was no commerce college in its vicinity. In 1977, the Govt. of Assam was pleased to allot 35 bighas of land, which now under the possession of the college. In its onward march, commenced with one faculty commerce introduced post graduate studies under Distance Education under Dibrugarh University-in 2002, KKHSO University study centre in 2008, IGNOU Partner Institute in 2009 and B.A in 2011 could be designated as the land marks in the development and expansion process. It is also planning to introduce HS Arts of AHSEC and MBA of Assam Science and Technology University of Govt. of Assam in the near future.
