Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College

Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College is located at Lengtisinga, PO Lengtisinga PS- Abhayapuri under the North Salmara Sub division in Bongaigaon District, Assam. This premier Institution of higher learning has been established in the memory of our beloved leader Late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi as a mark of respect to his ideology, It was with the then initiative of Late Chandan Kr Sarkar the youth committed leader accompanied by relentless and unstinted efforts of some eminent personalities of the localities the Institution formally received shape on 11th October, 1992. The first meeting that took place for the establishment of this Institution in this western part of Assam was presided over by Late Chandan Kr Sarkar and attended by same notable personalities of the localities.

The College having contributed immensely to the academic and cultural life of this part of backward region of Assam, not only often resistance to the test of time, but successfully carved a niche in the field of higher education. The Institution an arts stream is located at Lengtisinga, the place of convergence of Abhayapuri South, North, Jonia and Baghbar Legislative constituency and is also the gateway of Barpeta and Bongaigaon District of Assam.
