Pub Dikrong College, Lakhimpur

Pub Dikrong College a premier higher educational institution in the lower part of the Lakhimpur district. The college was established on 5th August 1991 with a view to spread quality education in the vast flood affected economically backward rural area of Lakhimpur district. The college is located 5k.m. east of Bihpuria town. Since the college is located on the eastern part of the river Dikrong, its named as *PUB DIKRONG COLLEGE*. The college is affiliated to the University of Dibrugarh. Since the inception of the college it has been providing quality education to the rural economically backward students. The college has received 2(f) & 12 (B) of UGC recognition. The college has 50 Bighas of vast plot of land. In every year a large number of students come to take admission in the college from the district and nearest island district of Majuli. The college was provincialized by the government of Assam w.e.f. 14th August 2013 under the venture educational institution provincialization Act. 2012 amended 2013. The college started functioning under the leadership of the Governing Body founder president Mr. Bolin Boruah and the founder Secretary cum Principal Mr. Khagendra Nath Saikia. Presently with the smooth guidance of the present principal, a group of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers, office staff the college has been imparting BA course in degree level and guiding the society with a clear vision.
