Nalbari, a quiet town of lower Assam, is popular for its rustic charm and ancient temples. Nalbari beholds the name ‘Nabadwip’ of Assam due to the presence of variegated Sanskrit educational institutions. There is transcendence of educational opportunities in Nalbari. In the interest of enriching the region with technical education, Nalbari Polytechnic was established under the scheme of 11 new polytechnics by the Government of Assam in the year 2017. The foundation stone was laid on 25/02/2013 by the then education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
This premier institute is situated in the village Chandkuchi under Bahjani Mouza of Nalbari district, neighbouring to historical “Mohmara Pukhuri” which was dug by one of the members of Ahom dynasty. It is 6.3 kms (16 min) from the centre of the town and bus station is 15 min (6.4 km) away. The distance from Guwahati, the gateway to North-East India to Nalbari Polytechnic is 1 hr 45 min (60 km) via Hajo-Nalbari road and is well connected by bus and railway modes of transportation. The historical “ Billeswar Devalaya ” is only 5 km away from Nalbari Polytechnic.
