Khagarijan College

Khagarijan College is one of the premier institution of Assam. Nestled amidst sylvan surroundings, it is located in the Nagaon Town. Our College adopted the old and ancient name of Nagaon, ‘Khagarijan’, ‘Khagari’, a type of reed and ‘Jaan’, a small tributary, jointly formed the word ‘Khagarijan’. It is from the old name of Nowgong that the name of this institution has originated. Our college prestigiously displays this name. These reeds or ‘Khagari’ can still be seen growing on the banks of the Potakolong, a wetland and a water channel formed out of the confluence of the Kolong and Kapili River, right behind the College.
