Kamrup College, Nalbari

Kamrup College, Chamata, a premier and one of the oldest institution of Higher Education in West Nalbari area, was established in the year 1966 (July 25) At present, a provincialised undergraduate Arts College, it has traversed almost 47 years of its glorious existence in the field of Higher Education. I am indeed grateful to the extraordinary vision and farsightedness of the people of the entire locality whose untiring efforts gave birth to this noble institution in the sixties of the last century While we should be justifiably proud of the achievements of the college in its journey of nearly five decades, we should also give serious introspection as to the deficiencies and drawbacks that we must remove, and the higher goals that we must reach in near future. We should all pledge to work together to meet this college a center of excellence. Our college has been playing a vital role in the expansion of higher education in the entire Paschim Nalbari area. The college has a glorious past and it has succeeded in producing a large number of brilliant students in University and Council examinations and many of them are well placed in social life. In spite of limited infrastructure, the exemplary perseverance and team-spirit of our faculties and students have strengthen the academic atmosphere to achieve the desired goal of quality education. Now, quality and excellence are the basic needs of Higher Education.
