The college was established in the year 1990 by a host of leading citizens and some visionaries of Greater Gossaigaon Subdivision under then Kokrajhar district, due to whose tireless efforts, Hatidhura college was established.
The college is located in the Assam-Bengal Border area under Dhubri district in far western part of Assam. It is only 03 kms. away from Assam west Bengal Border and 42 kms. away from Indo-Bhutan Border. The college is 16 kms. away from NH-31 and approximately 50 kms. from Dhubri district H.Q. Mostly hailing from peasant families belonging to SC, ST(H) ST(P), OBC, MOBC, Tea Garden Tribes (Adibashi) and Minorities.
